Dialogue

Barnabas

Equally the festivities began, Kassandra met with Barnabas.

  • Kassandra: The people are happy.
  • Barnabas: Every bit they should be! For the first time since Ares cursed u.s. with war, the Delos Islands know freedom.
  • Kassandra: Only where is Kyra? It's non like her to miss a gamble to drink with her troops.

(If players kept her secret)

  • Barnabas: She told me you kept her secret... I'1000 still shocked. Podarkes was a complicated man, but he was notwithstanding her father. She snuck off to ship him to the Ferryman lonely.

(If players revealed her secret)

  • Barnabas: I haven't seen her celebrate with her troops since you revealed her past. She's gone to transport her male parent to the Ferryman lone.
  • Kassandra: All good warriors deserve their sendoff, I suppose. Even Podarkes.
  • Barnabas: Pray that nosotros're shown the aforementioned kindness when our time comes. In the meantime, in that location is wine to be drunkard, and tales to be told.
  • Kassandra: If Podarkes were my family, I'd have tied him to a tree and left him to rot.
  • Barnabas: Y'all and many others on Delos. But, this is still more celebration than funeral. There's wine to drink, and tales to tell.
  • Kassandra laughed.

    (On skilful terms with Thaletas?)

    • Kassandra: Make the tale great. The troops deserve it. Thaletas especially.

    (On poor terms with Thaletas?)

    • Kassandra: Make the tale great. The troops deserve it. Even Thaletas.

    (No one romanced)

    • Barnabas: Indeed he does! He'due south only up the stairs, that way. I've been meaning to tell him how I lost this middle.

    (Kyra or Thaletas romanced)

    • Barnabas: Certainly... if you can find him. And when you practice, remind him—I still plan to tell him how I lost this center.

Regardless, Kassandra asked about the crew.

    • Kassandra: And the coiffure? Ready to sail?
    • Barnabas: On your order. Only beginning, let the coiffure enjoy a drink and a song. You deserve i, too.

Kassandra leaves Barnabas for Kyra and Thaletas.

(If Kasos was saved during the Sokratic Method)

A male child standing in the plaza in forepart of the Tavern waves at Kassandra.

    • Aeson: Misthios! Over here!

Kassandra approaches and talks to Aeson.

    • Aeson: Sokrates said you're the one who saved my pater!
    • Kassandra: That lunati... insubordinate style your pater?
    • Aeson: They had them and you saved them!
    • Kassandra: He needed saving. I saved him
    • Aeson: That's not true. You lot're a hero!
  • Kassandra: Your pater was't like the other rebels. I don't know if they'd welcome him hither. Y'all're non rubber.
  • Aeson: It's all correct now! Sokrates said the fighting is over, and Delians can all exist friends over again.
  • (If players asked "Where is your family unit?")

    • Kassandra: If you're here, where are your parents?
    • Aeson: Mater'south at home. I told her we were prophylactic, simply she says nosotros have to leave now - that the bad people will come for us.

(If role player asks "What are you doing here?")

    • Kassandra: You lot're not safe. The rebels are drinking and getting rowdy.
    • Aeson: They said they're building a school. I'thou going to learn to read legends of heroes like you!

(Leave - "Go savour the celebration.)

    • Kassandra: Chaire. And effort to stay out of trouble.

    Pokrates' Funeral

Kassandra made her way to Kyra, who had prepared a funeral pyre for Podarkes. Kassandra handed her an obol.

    • Kassandra: For the ferryman.

Kyra accepted the money and stepped forward with a torch in hand. She tossed the money onto Podarkes'southward corpse.

    • Kyra: Go now, into the river of black night, and embrace the boundless gloom. Y'all shall wander obscure even in the house of Hades, flitting amongst the shadowy dead.

She said this equally she lit the bonfire, casting the torch bated when done. She steeled herself every bit Podarkes burned.

    • Kassandra: Y'all shouldn't have to say goodbye alone.
    • Kyra: I'm glad I'm not lonely. I've wanted to watch him burn for so long. Now that it'south happened... I thought I'd feel peace.
    • Kassandra: And what practise you experience?
    • Kyra: I used to feel vengeful... Now... empty.
    • Kassandra: He's dead, and nothing nosotros can practice will bring him back.
    • Kyra: We? We didn't kill him. You did. I had a gamble to say goodbye to him and you took it from me. The gods demanded justice from me.

Kyra's grief came to a head.

    • Kassandra: Right here, right now, all that matters are the people who have fought for you. They need you now—non the gods.

Kassandra's words encouraged Kyra, and she resolved to live.

    • Kassandra: If the gods are displeased, offer them a sacrifice.
    • Kyra: A sacrifice... What practise I take left that they oasis't taken from me?

    Kyra's grief overwhelmed her.

    • Kassandra: People gave their lives for y'all, Kyra. I well-nigh gave my own. The gods have blessed you, and you don't even meet information technology.
    • Kyra: No i tin see what the gods practice. They tricked me into wanting him expressionless. They tormented my thoughts until I could think of nil else. And at present, I run into them laughing at me.

    Kyra'due south grief overwhelmed her.

    • Kassandra: I was in your place, one time. The vengeance dies, then the emptiness dies as well. Give information technology time.
    • Kyra: Time! I've given my entire life. I want it done! Kronos devours his children—rips them flesh from bone. Zeus had Prometheus torn open past birds for an eternity. Fate is cruel, and the gods are wicked.

Kyra'south grief came to a head.

    • Kassandra: Correct here, correct now, all that matters are the people who take fought for you lot. They need yous at present—not the gods.

Kassandra'south words encouraged Kyra, and she resolved to live.

    • Kassandra: If the gods are displeased, offer them a sacrifice.
    • Kyra: A sacrifice... What do I take left that they oasis't taken from me?

    Kyra's grief overwhelmed her.

    • Kassandra: People gave their lives for you, Kyra. I well-nigh gave my own. The gods take blest you, and you don't even see it.
    • Kyra: No 1 tin run across what the gods do. They tricked me into wanting him expressionless. They tormented my thoughts until I could recollect of nix else. And now, I see them laughing at me.

    Kyra'south grief overwhelmed her.

    • Kassandra: He's gone, but y'all're however here. The people need you. If yous don't protect them, there will be another Podarkes to come and accept his place.

Kassandra'due south words encouraged Kyra, and she resolved to live.

    Kyra lives

    (If Kyra's hugger-mugger was kept.)

    • Kyra: You lot're right. They practice demand me. And I need them. We're rebels with nothing left to rebel against. They need me now more than than ever.

    (If Kyra'southward secret was revealed.)

    • Kyra: They don't demand me. Yous made sure none of them would ever trust me again.
    • Kassandra: Nosotros all take complicated pasts, Kyra. Information technology's cypher to be aback of. Your family—your existent family, is celebrating tonight in your honor.
    • Kyra: We're rebels with nothing left to rebel against. That's not much to outset a family on... but it's more than I ever had. Yous're right.

Kassandra nodded, and the ii hugged.

    • Kyra: Thank you.

(If players asked "What will yous exercise at present?")

    • Kassandra: What volition you do next? Mykonos will demand to rebuild.
    • Kyra: Then that's what we'll do. Only not to put it back as information technology was... not as pater wanted. We'll make this place a new habitation for our people to be complimentary. To live good lives.

(Exit – "Allow's go to the celebration.")

    • Kassandra: Kyra... He's gone. Your rebels are waiting.
    • Kyra: They're celebrating. Let's celebrate with them.

They wrapped their artillery across each other'southward shoulders and stared at the pyre a while longer before heading to the celebration.

    • Kyra: Bye, pater.

    • Kassandra: Kyra, stop. You're too shut to the border.

    (Hole-and-corner kept)

    • Kyra: Nada. All of this was for nothing. I'1000 a insubordinate with nothing left to rebel against. It didn't bring her back.

    (Hole-and-corner revealed)

    • Kyra: Nothing. All of this was for nothing. You made sure of that... and now nothing volition bring her back.

    Kassandra was confused.

    • Kassandra: Her? Who?
    • Kyra: Expletive our fell gods. I will see you, mater. And pater.
    • Kassandra: Kyra! Stop!
    • Kyra: No shame. No pain. We will be together over again.

    • Kassandra: Exist reasonable, Thaletas.
    • Thaletas: I tried to be reasonable. I am not reasonable. I. Am. Spartan.

  • Kassandra: Delians! We have won!
  • Kassandra: But at present the real work begins. Yous must build a new home. A off-white home. I where savage people similar Podarkes tin never rise to power.
  • Barnabas: And now, a toast. To Kassandra! To victory!
  • The crowd drank as Kassandra stepped downwards.

    • Barnabas: What a speech! Though, I think some of the rebels like fighting more than than rebuilding.
  • Kassandra: Delians! The Athenians accept fallen... for at present.
  • Kassandra: But they are nonetheless amongst you. Justice is yours to bring. Observe the scum who fought for Podarkes, and make them suffer. They must pay for what they've washed!
  • Barnabas: And now, a toast. To Kassandra! To victory!
  • The crowd drank every bit Kassandra stepped downwardly.

    • Barnabas: A fine spoken communication... If a petty violent.
  • Kassandra: I think they liked it.
  • Barnabas: Of course, of course. Who wouldn't? I'll circular upwards the coiffure. Run across y'all back at the ship?
  • Barnabas took his leave as Kassandra stared out at the metropolis.

    • Kassandra: We've been here long plenty. No speech this night.
    • Barnabas: Kassandra! Heroes like yous are meant to give speeches—information technology's what makes you heroes! But, I'll round up the crew. The Adrestia will be ready to sail when you are.

Barnabas took his go out as Kassandra stared out at the urban center.

    (Kyra and Thaletas dead)

    • Kassandra: Podarkes is dead, but this is no time to gloat. The Spartans and the rebels have both suffered.
    • Barnabas: Ours is a time of loss, it'south true. Would you rather we just set sheet?

    (Accept – "Let's set sheet.")

    • Kassandra: I've done more than enough here.
    • Barnabas: I'll round up the crew. See you back at the transport.

Barnabas took his get out of Kassandra as she stared out at the city.

    Thaletas poisoned

(If Thaletas and Kasos lived, and the player gave a speech)

Before Barnabas could speak to Kassandra after her oral communication, Thaletas began choking. He clutched his chest and collapsed on the floor.

    • Spartan Light Soldier: He'southward been poisoned!

Barnabas quickly scanned the crowd and identified the culprit, Kasos. He fled.

    • Barnabas: That one. He did this! He's getting away.

    Kassandra readied to chase Kasos.

    • Barnabas: I'll bank check Thaletas. You stop that man!

Kassandra gave chase. Revelers had their own comments.

    • Barnabas: Become him!
    • Praxos: Must have been hemlock.
    • Herodianos: My general is dead.

    (Kyra alive)

    • Kyra: Thaletas! No!

Kassandra chased Kasos all the fashion to the shore and struck him down. She proceeded to interrogate him.

    • Kassandra: Why?! I set up you free.
    • Greek Soldier: Podarkes is expressionless, just we are never free. The Spartans are no amend than the Athenians in this war.
    • Kassandra: Thaletas isn't... wasn't like other Spartans. He cared about these islands, and the people on them.
    • Greek Soldier: Are you blind? He wanted power and control, simply like Podarkes. I'1000 not going to let my son grow to be a slave to Lakonian kings. Misthios, please... do yous have children?

    (If players chose "No.")

    • Kassandra: No. Raising a family in my line of work is... difficult.

(If players chose "Maybe one day.")

    • Kassandra: Some day, if the gods will it, I would love to have children of my own.

    Regardless, Kasos explained himself.

    • Greek Soldier: I was a teacher... before the state of war, I hateful. I loved children. I idea I was making the world a improve place for them, and for my own. If y'all ever kickoff a family unit, you'll sympathize: yous never stop fighting for the ones y'all honey.
    • Kassandra: Discover your family and become them out of here.
    • Greek Soldier: Possibly you lot practise understand. Tell the rebels when y'all see them—Delians will never stop fighting until our islands are free and our children are safe.
  • Kassandra: I let you lot go once. I won't brand that mistake once again.
  • Kassandra: I let you get once. I won't brand that mistake again.
  • Kassandra returned to the celebration, which had get a wake.

    (Kyra alive)

    • Kyra: Is that lunatic dead? Did y'all kill him?

    (If the player killed Kasos)

    • Kassandra: He's dead.
    • Kyra: What is left for the gods to take from me? When will they finally exist satisfied?
    • Kassandra: Kyra...

    Kyra angrily dismissed her.

    • Kyra: Go. Leave me with Thaletas.

(If the player allow Kasos go)

    • Kassandra: Thaletas is gone. No amount of killing will bring him back.
    • Kyra: You showed that lunatic mercy? He killed the futurity of this island, misthios. I will find him myself, and rip him limb from limb.

    Kassandra avoided her irate glare.

    • Kyra: As for you... get off my island.
  • Kassandra: I killed him with my bare hands.
  • Kyra screamed at her and grabbed her easily.

    • Kyra: Liar! Liar... where'southward the blood? Your hands are clean.
    • Kassandra: I....
    • Kyra: Become off my island.

Kassandra made her fashion to Barnabas.

    • Barnabas: We should leave.

    (Accept – "Let's go.")

    • Kassandra: Agreed. Tell the crew to prepare the ship.

Barnabas took his leave as Kassandra stared out at the metropolis.

    Departure

At dawn, Kassandra met with Barnabas at the docks, who was conversing with Sokrates.

    • Kassandra: Sokrates! You lot looking to join our crew?
    • Sokrates: I've only come up to see y'all off. I sail on a merchant ship in the morning.
    • Kassandra: May Poseidon at-home the waves.
    • Kassandra: Barnabas, is the Adrestia gear up to canvass?
  • Kassandra: Sokrates! The rebels are hunting Athenians. What are yous doing here?
  • Sokrates: I came to teach, as I always exercise. But don't worry: I sail on a merchant ship set for Attika in the morning.
  • Kassandra: Wise, as e'er. Thanks for coming to meet us off.
  • Kassandra: Speaking of being off—Barnabas, are we ready to canvas?
  • Barnabas apprised her of the crew'due south condition, based on how the commemoration turned out.

    • Barnabas: The crew are in fine spirits... If a piddling hungover. But the transport is ready.
    • Kassandra: Skilful. I only wish nosotros weren't leaving Kyra and Thaletas alone to rebuild what's been destroyed past the rebellion.
  • Kassandra: Skillful. I only wish we weren't leaving Kyra alone to rebuild her dwelling.
  • Kassandra: Skilful. Sokrates is side by side, and so Thaletas to Sparta. I but wish nosotros weren't leaving the people of Delos alone to rebuild everything they've lost to the rebellion.
  • Kassandra: If just we weren't leaving the people of Delos lone, without Kyra or Thaletas, to rebuild what they lost to the rebellion.
  • Sokrates: Are any of united states truly alone who have our friends and allies beside u.s.?
  • Barnabas: The ship is fix, though the crew are still shaken after seeing Thaletas poisoned.
    • Sokrates: Though... y'all shouldn't second guess your pick to save the poisoner the outset time. He institute justice in the finish.
  • Sokrates: Though, if I may... You shouldn't second guess your choice to salvage the poisoner the first time, or the second.
  • Kassandra: That pick price Thaletas his life... By poison, no less. A coward's death.
  • Sokrates: Did he not dice winning Delos for Sparta? That'south how he'll be known when he crosses the Styx to the Elysian Fields.
  • Barnabas: Exactly. Practice you remember what you told me when you lot first fix foot on these sands?
    • Kassandra: I said we were hither to kill Podarkes.
  • Kassandra: I said we came here to assist people.
  • Kassandra: That we were hither to finish a job.
  • Barnabas: That's what we set up out to practice... And that's precisely what yous did. They don't telephone call you the Mighty Misthios for nothing.
  • Kassandra: Ha! Who calls me that?
  • Sokrates: He does.
  • Barnabas: Now then! It'southward fourth dimension nosotros give the crew some orders. Where practise nosotros sail to next?
    • Kassandra: Podarkes was only one Cultist, Barnabas. Wherever we set sail, we volition find more than of them... and I will kill them all.
  • Kassandra: The world is ours, and the wind is at our backs. Nosotros sail for adventure, Barnabas. Just as we always do.
  • Kassandra: I won't rest until I know my family is safe. We practise what we've e'er done—follow their trail until I've brought everyone together again.
  • Outcome

Kassandra bid bye to the Delos Islands subsequently a long campaign to free the Delians from Podarkes the Vicious, and by extension the Cult of Kosmos. It was unclear what the Fates ultimately decreed for the friends she made along the way.

    Trivia

    • If a romance with Thaletas was pursued (indicated past 'Hearts of State of war' becoming available), then left for Kyra, his jealousy dialogue before the prompt will showtime state that Kyra stole the hero from him, and so returns to assuming the role player stole Kyra from him.
    • If Thaletas is lonely at the celebration, due to Kyra committing suicide, his responses when the histrion lies near her whereabouts appear to exist improperly flagged. He mentions Kyra's "exposed past" if her secret was kept, and doesn't reference information technology at all if her undercover was exposed. When telling him the truth, he curses the islands if her secret was kept, and he curses Podarkes if her secret was exposed, which indicates that he had no style of knowing she had such a surprising by aside from the role player exposing it.
